I'm kicking this off with a footnote from the Jan 20, 2013 issue of "Skating Magazine." (Page 51)
S.T.A.R.S. is the USFSA's off-ice testing program that evaluates the fitness, flexibility and agility of skaters.
It's held in various cities spread out across the US, but in the past participation has been limited to young'uns that have passed Moves tests. This year, the criteria is 6 or older, Pre-Juv Moves test passed. (Higher test level this year)
The list of cities and dates hasn't been defined yet - they're looking for hosts!
There will be ONE (count 'em - 1) S.T.A.R.S. Combine that is all-adult. It's being held during the 2013 US Adult Figure Skating championships in Scottsdale, AZ in April. (Sometime between April 9-13, 2013)
The wording is awkward: they don't exclude people 18&older from the other cities, but the article stated that this would be the only location open to adult skaters in 2013. I guess you could ask about a site closer to your home, but don't be surprised if they say no.Clarification from US Figure Skating:
