Ice SO SO SO needs quartets back.

Can you imagine how cool a Davis/White/Moir/Virtue quartet would be?
It's funny. The roller people constantly harp on how how great it would be to be an olympic sport, but they don't realise all the neat things that would have to be ditched to feed the media machine (like quartets, synchro, figures, a sane scoring system, etc etc etc).

I thought it was called "fours."

No idea. Well before my time.
Did stumble across this performance, which whilst it has it's cute moments, you can tell it wasn't really very serious. More of a double pairs performance than a real quartet essemble.

This used to be competed in Skate Canada and enormously popular with audiences

No, I cannot imagine a V/M/D/W fours.

Oh neat! Awesome to see that footage.
Anyone know if the Skate Canada Fours actually specified 2 guys+2 girls?
Roller quartets clearly don't (and couldn't! given the lack of guys) and I think they're more creative because of it. The ice ones seem to be a lot of "simultaneous pairs" moves.
