Best Figure Skate Laces and suppliers
« on: January 14, 2016, 10:35:11 PM »
Are there any good mail order / web sites that sell good quality black - 110" figure skate laces ? I can't find any locally except the 1/4" wide flat type which don't work very well on my old sp teri boots - I like the narrower type that originally came with the boots.

Thanks for any help or recommendations you can give

SP-Teri sells nylon laces for $5.  Contact them for details.

Are you sure that your current laces are in fact 1/4" wide?  Many laces these days are manufactured according to metric system sizes: 7 or 8 mm width appears to be common for figure skate laces.  Riedell seems to be sticking to the English system size 1/4".  This translates to ~6.3 mm, which is thinner than many other laces.  If your current laces are not Riedell, I'd suggest their cotton/poly blend.  I personally dislike all nylon and all cotton.  I recently discussed the pluses and minus of various lace materials in another thread here:

You should skim that entire thread.  There are other tidbits that probably would be useful for you (caveat:  a lot of extraneous discussions too).

Basically, no.  These are normally special order items.  I like the Jackson laces.  I have ordered them from Rainbo Sports before.  Likely you will have to call.

I haven't seen laces 110" long -- but there are 108" and 112" laces available for figure skates. I prefer Riedell (roundish) and A&R (flat). I hate Jackson laces as I find they stretch too much after a while. I've ordered from Skaters Landing and from Ultimate Skate and Hockey. Got a good experience with both vendors.

I use 110" nylon laces for my KT2s.  I buy them from my fitter, who gets them directly from SP Teri.  I agree with an above poster, it may be easiest to buy directly from them (call, I've not had good luck with emailing them at times).

I wonder if the op's laces are stretched?  That would explain the length/width questions.

Finally got the laces that I've been looking for - right width , length color and USA made.
