He made the blades and had them chrome plated and then found a boot maker to make the boots which are leather. The beautiful blades with swan heads instead of toe-picks would be wonderful to get hold, although toe-loops might be a bit tricky to perform.

No, I had not seen that.  That's pretty neat!

It seems to me that ballerina roller skates would be harder to stay balanced on than the ice version in the video.  I imagine a skater easily falling forward or backward off the wheel in the pictured roller skate.

Incredible!  I cannot imagine how strong her feet must be to do this!!!!
