Title: It's the skater, not the equipment?

Ok, that's obviously a stretch. But check out Jeremy Abbot in rental hockey skates!

Wow! That's some fancy footwork, and a double at the end!

I always liked the in-between elements in Jeremy's skating, and this shows it off.

I was wondering that myself and looked it up. He said he's in Sun Valley, and the website says they have one of the few year-round outdoor ice rinks in the country. Must be awfully expensive to maintain in the warmer weather.

Harry wing don't need no stinkin' ice.  Or toe picks.

I'm convinced that once you get to a certain point, all skating is the same.  That's why I can take lessons on inline skates from a roller skating coach, and go and immediately apply the results on ice.
