Aside from the cup itself, the event will of course also decide the final placements for the GPF. In the ladies' event I figure it's Alissa's to lose, but both Cynthia and Kirra have an outside chance at the final one or two placees. In the pairs, Savechenko/Szolkovy are certain to get into the final even if they don't win, and Bazarova/Larinov have a good shot too.
Pechalat/Bourzat will almost certainly get into the final, but after that it's anyone's guess. And in the men's ... there are half a dozen guys who could get into the final based on what happens in France.

That was an interesting result in men's qualification for the Grand Prix Final. Entries should be Takahiko Kozuka (30 points), Daisuke Takahashi (30 points), Patrick Chan (28 points), Tomas Vernier (26 points), Nobunari Oda (26 points) and Florent Amodio (24 points). The last entry is the most interesting, because Florent is actually in a three-way tie for points with Brandon Mroz (24 points) and Jeremy Abbott (24 points). At the point the first tie-breaker goes into effect, which is highest placement. Since they all have the same two placements (2nd and 3rd), that doesn't help. The 2nd tie-breaker is total points in their two competitions, and that's what decides it. Florent has total points of 443.15 ; Jeremy Abbot has total points of 435.40, and Brandon Mroz has total points of 431.11. Similar for the dance, with 4 teams with 22 points going for the last 2 trips to the final. Weaver/Poje and Hoffmann/Zavozin get the nod because they both had 2nd places in their events, while the Shibutanis and Chock/Zuerlein only had 3rd places.
Of course there's always a good chance that someone will drop out and some of the alternates will get to go ...
