Title: Replacing Skate Tongues
Post by: AgnesNitt on July 06, 2014, 05:08:44 PM
I'd like to replace the tongue on my old boots with a new tongue. Is that doable?

Someone at my rink had that done.  However, IIRC her boots were Klings, so she probably couldn't have that done now!

I can't remember what brand you skate in, but if they are Harlicks, I'm pretty sure they could do that for you.  Alternatively, I'm sure you could send them to Mont Clare in the Chicago area to have them done.  I had a pair rebuilt there when I was younger, and I know they still do good work.

Yes, it can be done. Usually it requires sending it back to the manufacturer (Harlick, SP-Teri, etc.) or finding a repair place that can do it. I believe it means restitching so it would need to be someone with the right equipment and experience.
