Title: JEREMY ABBOT'S FALL Split Screen
Post by: AgnesNitt on August 10, 2014, 09:27:25 PM
US Nationals vs Sochi Men's SP

He falls, gets up, then just jazz riffs the rest of the program. Notice the difference for the jump setup between the two.

This is a great video.

I admire fans who do stuff like this.

That was pretty amazing to watch.  I had no idea that he was improvising that much… I somehow thought he sort of picked up where he left off.

This was hands down my favorite program of his from like.. ever.. it killed me to see him fall in Sochi, and stay down for what seemed like FOREVER at the time. (I was watching the live stream, it was KILLER). watching side by side it really wasn't that long at all.

Didn't he choreograph this program himself?  It doesn't surprise me at all that he could get up and pull himself back together and pretty much change EVERYTHING that followed and still make it work - he knew what he needed, and he obviously knew the music well and timing well enough to improvise.

Wow, that was really impressive to watch. I had heard discussion of how amazing it was that he managed to fit in the required elements, but didn't realize how completely he had to improvise to do it. It does feel like the music was particularly conducive to it, being more of a musical flow than a piece with a lot of dramatic moments.

That was one of the reasons I liked this program so much... when he was "on" the whole thing looked completely effortless, it was magical :)

I totally agree. Just so smooth and light, hiding all that hard work!

I just now saw this but I love that it shows just how strong a performer he really is.
