(School) Figure Blades
« on: April 18, 2013, 07:22:34 AM »
Noticed this eBay posting today - SP-Teri boots with MK Silver Test blades.

The blades are the interesting part - they're for doing school/compulsory figures!  Note the lack of bottom toepick.

NB: The auction description is very misleading; it says the boots are for "intermediate competition" single & double jumps or recreational skating.  Those blades are not for jumping or spinning at all, so if you wanted the boots for freestyle skating, you'd need to change the blades.

Saw that SharperEdgeSkates.com has FIGURE blades for sale

MK Silver Test

MK Gold Test

No MK Elite blade other than the one on eBay that icedancer2 found
http://skatingforums.com/index.php?topic=4916.0

Saw this John Wilson Pattern 88 blade on eBay - I think it's for figures, as a complement to Pattern 99 as the skater's freestyle blade.

Expired eBay Listing

Interesting that the soleplate and blade shaft were separate pieces that had to be bolted together.  For Figures, you didn't need to worry about a blade coming apart since it's such a low-impact discipline.
