Mine got a Talbots card and bought a Fair Isle sweater with it.
-
I gave my coach a card inscribed with my personal note of thanks and appreciation; plus I enclosed a portrait of Benjamin Franklin.
-
I gave my coach a Panera Bread gift card. She often stops by Panera on the way to the rink for privates.
My coffee club group takes up a collection to buy the coach a bottle or two of wine.
-
Generic gift card and a box of Trader Joe's chocolates. Last year I gave her a little MIFa f20 blue tooth speaker that her students can wear on their sleeves.
-
I was off the ice for a bit and haven't seen her... when I do she's getting an Amazon gift card and a Snoopy skating mug I found at CVS. (Annoyed at myself for not also grabbing the Peanuts skating throw blanket while they had them... went back later and they had sold out.)
-
I have three coaches and a pairs partner. I had no clue what to get them all, so I ended up going with my old standby of baking bread. I made mini-loaves of banana and spiced pear and let them choose which they wanted. I think it's something I'll continue in coming years. It took the stress out of it. And they all loved it.

The baked goods is a good idea.
I gave one coach (Russian) a bottle of champagne and some fancy cheese.
I gave the other coach a gift certificate at a wine bar plus a gift for her young daughter.
-
I gave baked goodies to the skaters I see at adult skate.
My wife had not finished baking before I saw my coach for the last time before the holidays which is why I gave her a gift card.
-
Gave new coach of 3 weeks a little box of chocolate. (Last year gave coach stainless steel thermos that kept his coffee hot all day at outdoor rink, gift card to fav coffee place and something else I can't recall, probably chocolate or candy).
Adults at the rink (coffee club and morning FS's) also do rink gifts in appreciation of our adult programming/support. For the main Zamboni guy, this year got him an oversized thin rechargeable hand warmer and for the general staff, all kinds of chocolate covered things (mint, coffee beans, orange peels), 2 pounds of fresh baked Ferrera bakery cookies from Little Italy, and candy canes.

Tell me more about this. It's what I wanted to get my coaches who are always cold.

@ChrstyRN I would recommend this one. I go the 6000 for myself but read this one will last way longer. I may by the 100000 too.

This is BRILLIANT!!!! I had no idea such creatures existed......

I got my coach a $50 Amazon gift card. I know she doesn't have time to go shopping at a real store, LOL!
She gave me a summer weight scarf that would be perfect for my overly air-conditioned SoCal office.
-
I received a couple of gift cards but mainly, I received lots of candy. (Really: A LOT OF CANDY) On the same vein, bottles of wine and some candied pecans that I can't wait to open once the CANDY pile starts to dwindle. Knowing I collect penguins led to socks and snow globes with penguins on them. One girl gave me a really cool hot/cold cup with glitter inside the clear walls that you can shake to rearrange the glitter. Obviously, not for when it's full of liquid, lol.
Best of all, lots of drawings and sweet notes. The 16-year old wrote me the sweetest note - I almost cried while reading it. He brought me a Nutcracker from his trip to Germany. It's beautiful.
-
@loops I didn't know either until a fellow skater showed me hers. Love it.
-
I bought this hand warmer - it works pretty well on the ice.

I moved out of state years ago, so no, I wasn't the person show showed you the hand warmer. I bought one because Sheila Thelen posted a similar device on Facebook and I thought "that's a great idea!" (Although, I damaged the wrist strap within the first week - it snagged on a pen in my pocket and the braiding was frayed. I replaced it with a better strap that fits better. Lemons and lemonade.)
I skated in NY/NJ before that, so we probably crossed paths at this or that rink. I'm scheduled to be in town for business in mid-February -- I can try to fit in a meetup, maybe?

Gave my coach a scarf, socks with skating Santas, and the ever-necessary gift cards.
She gave me hand warmers, chocolate, and my ever-necessary Diet Coke (which was actually my favorite item because it made me laugh)
-
Generally I give coaches money, and I call it a bonus instead of a gift.
-
Ah okay! Person who showed it to me has the very same one you posted.
Let me know when you're in town.
