Place in the top 4 at Sectionals and skate in the Championship Gold ladies event at Adult Nationals
Consistently land my double salchow
Learn double toe loop
Significantly increase my PCS scores
Execute a fully extended split or split falling leaf jump

Much of this is pending my knee injury and seeing how it is healing, of course!

I just want to skate well enough to be in next years Nutcracker on Ice as presented by the local skating club.
For specific things to relearn again; one foot spin, waltz jump.
New things to learn; the beginning pattern dances.
Find a dance partner.

I didn't have any 2014 resolutions as I was injured the last part of the year and well into the spring. So......

1. Stay healthy/avoid injury.
2. Have a consistent off-ice routine to build strength and flexibility.
3. Pass ISI open silver FS by the Spring ice show.
4. Master my nemesis -the back 3 turns.
5. My reach goal: USFS Silver Moves by the end of 2015.

I hope to pass my bronze tests in January.
Compete at State Games in Omaha.
I think an axel would be nice, but I'll go for a 6 revolution camel spin & a flying camel spin with 5+ revolutions.

1.  Finally get my new skates (on order since 8/19/14) that will fit great and be comfortable!
2.  Get comfortable and be consistent with deeper edges, especially RO.
3.  Good height on waltz jump
4.  Get my salchow, and other singles well (working on sal now and it's low and slow, toe loop also and off a waltz only)
5.  Increase speed and revs on one-foot spins and progress spins
6.  Test! Pre-bronze?  I forget!  I haven't paid much attention to that of late.
7.  Find a drama-free coach that I click with.  (after new skates come - are they ever really coming?)
8.  Consistent and challenging off-ice training
Working on Silver MITF and Bronze Freestyle

Great resolutions! Hopefully you have a drama free coach now? Despite the skates not being ready?

1. Pre-bronze MIF and FS tests (not going to make it for 2014).
2. Toe loop.
3. The weight thing.
4. Higher spirals.
5. Keep to an off-ice workout plan (I've already bought a mini day planner to keep track!)
6. More revs on the spin... would like at least six.
7. New boots.
8. At least two competitions.

Money is somewhat tight since I decided to go back to school.  My main goal is to continue to be able to afford the same amount of practice time and coaching as I am receiving now, since I’ve made so much progress.  Assuming I am able to do so, the following are my goals:

1. Moves in the Field:
  • Take and pass Intermediate MITF
  • Begin working on Novice MITF and be able to complete each pattern somewhat correctly
2. Jumps:
  • Land axel more consistently than in 2014
  • Land double salchow at least once
  • Land double toe loop at least once
  • Begin working on double loop
3. Spins:
  • Get a lower sit position
  • Get additional revolutions in cannonball and tuck behind sit variations
  • Get a nicer and lower position in back sit
  • Get at least five (nice) revolutions in back camel
  • Begin working on flying camel
  • Be able to lay back more in layback
So, that's a lot...but I like to dream big!
Current Skating Projects:
-Intermediate MITF (still...)
-Double toes + double loops
-Getting my camel back

1) Learn to be more confident on ice (carried over from....well, forever)
2) Pass the preliminary edges test (you know, that thing I've been working on for the last four years)

This may not go well!

OK, so this year I'm dividing things up into what I want to do and how I plan to get there.  After June my job responsibilities shift and I have more time and energy to devote to this.  So…

1.  Pass ISI Beta/Gamma and/or USFSA Adult 3 and 4.
Continue LTS classes; add a second class at my regular ISI rink or the USFSA rink starting in the summer.
2.  Improve general fitness- flexibility, cardio, strength/endurance.
Continue stretching daily at home and after skating; sign up for a pilates/yoga class starting in the summer.
3.  Improve presentation skills, put together a program.
Private lessons starting in the summer; aim for next year's NJ Basic Skills competition series.
4.  Increase confidence in general.
Skate at least twice a week in addition to classes/lessons.  Fall!

1.  Get a significant amount of consistency and control in backward edges.
2.  Practice out *all* the fear in RFI3s. (largely I suspect related to #1)
3.  Equalise inline and ice skating skills.  Still rather more confident on inlines.

1. Start landing loops from entrances that aren't standing still
2. Start landing flips and lutzs at all
3. Get 5+ revolutions on scratch spin, sit spin, backspin
4. Start working on preliminary skating skills for test
5. Flexibility
      a. Work on opening hips
      b. Improve my spiral position
6. Participate in my first competition in 10+ years

1.  I did not succeed in getting down a 1 foot spin so I'll be making that a goal again  :-[
2.  Pass Pre-Bronze MITF test
3.  Participate in adult group for the spring show

The goals I set last year that I was able to meet were 3 off-ice workouts a week and 2 practices a week.  I've mostly met that and plan on continuing with those.

Get something more than a basic position spin called in competition.
Start work on the axel.
And if I'm really luck take the next couple of tests.
But more importantly stay healthy (or rather recover from flu and then stay healthy) and have fun skating. Everything else is just a bonus.

So I had planned to do these in September/October more as a seasonal resolution as opposed to a New Years one.  But life is what life is, and I've only just now had time to put them together.

  • Test my 14 and Fox at the end of the season.  Bonus if I pass them.  Would really like to pass the 14 since I already have that one.  In France though tests expire after 2 years if you haven't completed the level.
  • Find my back spin, get at least 4 revolutions.  Bonus if it's reasonably centered.  Double bonus if my back sit is found with it.
  • Stick to my off ice training routine.
  • Make stretching a 3x weekly habit.
  • Get my splits back (roll over from last year)
  • Extra points if I can get my husband to a mental place where I can compete solo next season guilt free.

And for the record, I think AgnesNitt's resolutions to get back on the ice and to enjoy it are the best ever.  I hope they happen for you soon!!!!

- Skate at least twice a week

- Start thinking positively about myself and my abilities, and remember that most of the people sitting around and watching aren't critiquing me, but either don't care one bit or are cheering me on.

- Be able to do forward and backward crossovers equally well (Where I'm at now: barely doing forward, and on the verge of tears doing backward pumps because, well, BACKWARDS) and get a decent spiral going.

- Get good enough that I NEED new skates, and then get skates that actually fit!

- Continue to support my kids in their skating and not become THAT MOM. :)

2. Enjoy resolution 1.

I second yours and add my own:

3. Pass bronze MITF test.
4. Continue to work in scratch, back scratch and sit.
5. Progress from half to full flip and learn loop.
6. Compete again. If I can get my lungs to let me do a full 1:30 program.

I suppose it is time to document my 2015 goals:

* Take and pass Bronze FS test
* Continue working on first three dances with goal to test and pass one of the three by December, either partnered or solo
* Compete in 6 competitions this year, 2-3 events each
* Choose music for a new Light program and have ready to compete in late summer/early autumn
* Choose music for a new FS program and have ready to compete (or skate in recital) by end of year
* If given an opportunity to skate in an adult group number again, go for it!
* Continue working on all skating skills
* 3-rev camel spin; 2-rev back camel spin

Love those!  I always think people are judging me haha though I know that is not generally the case!

LOL, I bet lots of people actually are judging you! (and me and everyone else who stands out enough to be noticed).   People are just like that.   People distil quick impressions down to a snap judgement - and generally in a way to make them feel better about themselves.   Whatever!  I say.  Every [*******] has an opinion.   If you skate for the glorious feeling of skating it all fades into background noise anyway.

And yes, twinskaters, even this random stranger is cheering you on!  Go you!  In fact, go everyone!
