Skating on TV - Schedule Pages
« on: August 28, 2010, 08:37:42 PM »
There are two great schedules online.

The classic Heather Winfield's "Figure Skating TV Schedule" page:
http://heatherw.com/mk/sch.htm

HisWeirness from FSU's List:
http://sites.google.com/site/figureskatingnotes

This site is a work of art - there are small tabs towards the bottom that let you select US Television, Online Viewing, and International TV.

US Figure Skating events are shown on their internet subscription-only site, http://www.icenetwork.com

Most US events and specials are being carried by NBC and UniversalSports and their online site, www.universalsports.com

I think it is worth mentioning that there are WebTV and TvTeka. Those two are russian online TVs. They have a number of channels and you can watch there the main skating events (Europeans, Worlds, all grand prix events etc).

To watch you have to pay about $10 per month (approximately, I don't remember it exactly from my head).

Do you have to sign up or pay a fee?  I visited the link and could not find anything.   I'm bummed because NBC sold Universal Sports where I was watching the events to a cable entity, so I no longer get it.  Would like to find a web alternative to watch upcoming skating season.

Thanks for posting!

I miss the days when there were more figure skating fans on this board and we would have pretty good discussions!

Heather's site is great.

Was very disappointed last night not to see World's coverage on NBC because it was pre-empted by a freaking basketball game!!

Luckily my skating compatriots informed me that it was being re-run from 2am - 4am and I recorded it but was really looking forward to an evening of skating on TV with my husband... very disappointing!!

Grrr Basketball.
